I recently participated in my first Benelios voting process. After it was
over, I wanted to visualize the beatpaths of the Schulz preferential voting.
However, my first attempt resulted in data that did not match the official
election results. I’m assuming I’m missing some knowledge about how
results.json works.
The election had one Preferential Voting / Schultze question. The results
for that question appear to be an array of voter responses for that question,
each response containing an ordered ranking of all candidates. I assumed
that this ordered ranking of candidates corresponded to the order of answers
defined in the question elections.json, but using this method gives me
results that do not match the final results and I do not see my set of voted
set of preferences in the results when using this method.
How do the results for a preferential voting question map back to the
question answers? Is there a json file somewhere I can use to look these
mappings up?
