No.

I seem to remember advice given not so long ago: "we are currently doing
a major rewrite of the sieving phase. We thus recommend
not to use the development version for the moment." which I followed.

I'll update and try again.

Just updated and rebuilt.  Exactly the same symptoms as before.  8-(
