No need to clone again. But "make cmake" (to reconfigure) and then "make"
(to recompile), yes.
If you want to avoid recompiling, you can try to find the appropriate
options to pass to your compiler to use just the appropiate instruction
set that you want, covering all the architectures you want to run on,
while still having some "advanced" instructions to get some performance.
Disabling all fancy instructions (SEE, and so on) might hurt too much
performance, I guess.
An easy way to do that without reading the documentation is to compile on
the oldest CPU you want to run on. Usually the binaries produced are
valid on newer CPUs (at least if you don't mix Intel / AMD).
