Greetings,
I'm using Triangulation_2 and Triangulation_euclidean_traits_xy_3 to model a terrain. I'm dynamically inserting points into the triangulation, and would like to modify CGAL's default behaviour for triangle subdivision after point insertion, i.e. instead of dividing a triangle in 3 faces (ref fig 26.2 in the user manual) I would like to create e.g. 4, 6 or 9 faces after each point inserted in a face.
Have anyone done this before, or are there plans to inclulde different subdivision strategies to Triangulation_2? I'm thinking of inheriting Triangulation_data_structure_2 in a new data structure class, and to override insert_in_face to implement the new behaviour, but as I'm still pretty new to CGAL I would very much appreciate to hear opinions from CGAL-experts first if this sounds like a sane thing to do.
Best regards,
Eivind
