Andrea,

As you say biometry is not evil and it can be put to good or bad use.
I personally do not have any issues with this application in particular but
the way Facebook is planning to use it.
Identifying smokers who litter and sending warning to them is fine but the
act of putting them on a wall of shame is unacceptable to me. (I am almost
sure you guys do not have any control over that part).
I believe this should be implemented on a region basis approach, if
littering has a fine/penalty in my state then I can see authorities sending
tickets to cigarette-butt offenders but if it is not I am completely against
'wall of shame'. We don't see name of people who violate traffic laws all
over the town on billboards, and definitely FB is in no place to do that
IMO.

As a side note, I am beginning to regret that I've given so much personal
information to FB so it feels that it can act the way it's planning to in
this case. To me it's just a social network platform where I can keep in
touch with my friends, I might be OK with it helping law enforcement agents
but acting or trying to be one of them is completely unacceptable to me.

Just my 2-cent...
