I am not sure what you mean by expose (other than documenting the existing functionality).

It is exactly that, but after it is reviewed. During such a review the interface may still change.

I was already able to write my own visitor - unfortunately I see the problem rather in the Sweep_line_subcurve class, which does not store the original curve.

Another way to go about it is to construct an Arrangement_with_history_2.

You are welcome to contribute and try to implement anyone of the above.
I would be glad to do so - but right now I'm a bit in a hurry, so I'll go for the slow (but easy) approach. I'll let you know if I come up with anything for the intersecting curves.
