Sir, treat me as your student and please help me with getting started , just a kickstart guide is needed by you and I promise i'll deliver my best to the organization and will make you proud.

Most contributors are first users of CGAL in their own projects.
While using CGAL they  learn about how it is structured, documented,
they learn about naming conventions, the API, etc.
And as a user it may happen that they spot something to fix, to improve,
or to add.

Others want to contribute a completely new CGAL package based on
their research and/or an existing prototype, but the first scenario
seems to be more realistic for undergraduates.

The CGAL project also regularly participates in the Google Summer of
Code and proposes topics for internships.   There we favor students
who took classes in data structures and algorithms and in geometric
computing, and students who master git, cmake, doxygen,...
