I have a mesh with a closed and polygonal curve inside. This is coming from an external finite element library (see first attachment). What I need to do is to submesh each cell that intersects the green curve (see second attachment, where I’ve sketched some of the refined polygons).
I don’t know how to attack the problem with CGAL. My first idea was to compute the blue intersection points, build a polygon for each one of them, and then mesh it one by one. Unfortunately, the resulting triangulation will have “hanging nodes” and I’d like to avoid this for now.
What is in your opinion the best way to solve this?
