Hello,

I'm using StarPU (trunk r12309) with the MPI extension. I think I've found something that is either a missing functionnality in StarPU, or that shoud be mentionned in the documentation.

The issue is around the use of a data handle from the VOID interface with the MPI extensions. I'm using a void data handle to express a dependency that is external to StarPU. With MPI, I get the following error (STARPU_VOID_INTERFACE_ID=6) :

[starpu][_starpu_mpi_handle_allocate_datatype][assert failure] Handle To Datatype Function not defined for StarPU data interface 6

AS_ELFIP_FMM: starpu_mpi_datatype.c:130: _starpu_mpi_handle_allocate_datatype: Assertion `func' failed.

This seems fairly sensible, as the meaning of a void data dependency might not be very clear in an MPI context, but this perhaps should be mentionned in the documentation.
What do you think ?
