[Starpu-devel] purge in starpu

We would like to know how to predict situations where StarPU has to purge 
before it actually happens.
We know that the window sizes has a direct impact on the purge mechanism 
within StarPU in addition to the memory capacity available on the system.
Although the purge is a cool feature, it may be quite expensive and slows 
down the overall computation.

So, if there are some ways to determine ahead to time when we will be facing 
purge situations given the window size, 
the aggregated memory capacity, the number of MPI processes/nodes, and the 
application memory footprint, (and perhaps other parameters such as 
scheduling policies)
we could use such insights to prevent the purge situations by making some 
adjustments on these aforementioned parameters.
