Very good idea! It will more friendly that having the feeling to have reached 
a roundabout with a no-way sign at each exit!
About the sqside option, yes I did. Indeed, I put tasks.sieve.sqside = 0 in 
the parameter file I use for SNFS. With the spaces around the "=" in the 
parameter file.

to avoid such infinite loops in the future, I've added an error message
when we find no suitable prime < 1000000. In such a case the error message
points to the README, paragraph "Factoring with SNFS".

PS: by the way, did you use tasks.sieve.sqside=0 with your SNFS polynomials?
