Hi Maarten, we are currently working on such meshing problems where one-dimensional sharp features of surfaces could be respected. However no working code is available right now. Polyhedral surfaces with contrained edges are ou first target. However, and it will take us a few months to come out with something working for such surfaces. Regards, Mariette Maarten Moesen wrote: Hello, For making finite element models, I'd like to remesh polyhedral manifold surfaces with borders, and I wonder if this is or will be possible with the CGAL mesher tools. The polyhedral surfaces consist of triangles, possibly of bad quality, and they may be removed/smoothed out as long as the surface remains homeomorphic and reasonably close to the original. But it is important that the borders are respected because either they have to agree with a volume in which it is embedded or they must agree with other similar manifolds. In the attachment I put two example images. The first is an example manifold surface. The second is a 3D solid component defined by it by embedding it in a cube. (The cube's ribs and corners must not be smoothed out.) Is it possible with the CGAL mesher? Thank you very much, Maarten Moesen |
