Hello,

I was recently recommended to use CGAL for the implementation of a geometric
modeling and processing problem.

Given a 3D point cloud and a 3D grid, I want to set +1 for empty cells and
-1 for non-empty cells.  The detail description is attached in a PDF file.

Could you tell me the best data structure (i.e., classes) to represent the
point cloud and grid?

I would appreciate your kind help.

Yes, your response helped. 

I could not re-install CGAL, because this problem arose in the
installation itself. Also, I was not using the Windows installer, but
rather I was trying to install while running the install_cgall script
under cygwin. (Per my prior thread, which I should have repeated for
this one, I am using the install_cgal script rather than the installer
application because I am hoping to understand the changes made for
installation. The overall goal is to fit the CGAL installation into a
larger build process for the application that uses it, and to make that
work I need to see what it does.)

Even though re-installing using the installer was not an option, I
decided to do a sanity check by uncompressing the distribution .tar.gz
file in a new location. Sure enough, include/CGAL/Interval_nt.h was
there. It must have been deleted somehow from the first directory tree,
although I have no idea how that would have happened! (Maybe a
mouse/keyboard slip, or something equally insidious.)

Anyway, when run from the new distribution tree, the installation
completed with no errors.

That's quite odd .
I doubled checked that file is included in distribution and is not named
differently.

To double check I *just* followed these steps:

1.Uninstalled CGAL 3.3.1

2.Download the installer from

ftp://ftp.mpi-sb.mpg.de/pub/outgoing/CGAL/CGAL-3.3.1-Setup.exe

3.Installed CGAL at the default location (with no precompiled library at
all)

Here's the full file path in my PC taken from Windows Explorer:

C:\Program Files\CGAL-3.3.1\include\CGAL\Interval_nt.h

Can you double check? or perhaps re-install CGAL?

P.S.: I'm puzzled that you used "h:/" instead of something like
"/cygdrive/h/" in cygwin. I didn't know that was possible.
