i've read some papers on methods of creating cut seams automatically for meshes with genus > 0, but am not sure if CGAL includes any such functionality, or how to use it. any suggestions?

I'm trying to see if CGAL's LSCM implementation is able to handle arbitrary 3d meshes, as it states in the documentation that it only works on meshes that are "topological discs." Has anyone tried using the surface mesh parametrization code before?
