Hi Y'all,

This is just my opinion, but I wanted to weigh in with the opposite viewpoint: I find email lists to work better than forums for my work-flow.

- Both can be searched, as long as the mailing list program has decent archival + search features.

- I am subscribed to plenty of forums, and review none of them on a regular basis. I think I'd be less likely to provide shared support for other users on a forum system than an email one.

- The mail flow from CGAL isn't very heavy, and has been very quick to screen by packages...basically anything involving nef polyhedra, meshes, etc. gets deleted instantly, and then I read everything that goes by regarding arrangements, etc.

cheers
Ben

Third, and this might be subjective, but it's a little annoying getting an
average of 10 mails a day from the list (there are some days when this amounts
to 20-30+), to most of which I have no immediate relevance. A forum with a
(good) search capability would be much more comfortable.
