Hello all 
i am new to CGAL and am trying to do Mesh Generation From a Segmented 3D
Image - input format is .lattice (a voxel based format here at university).
Output format should be a ASCII File with a list of nodes, elements (and
materials) and neighbours.

At the moment I am trying to find out how input and output files are
formatted but could not find any example files. 

Can you tell me where to find a "*.mesh" and a "*.inr.gz" file 
as used in the code example under "49.3.3   Mesh Generation From a Segmented
3D Image"

or give me a link to a file format description? Or are the files all binary
and not really nice to look at? I have some trouble reading (and finding the
right) code to find out the data structure.
I will probably need to write a tool that converts the .lattice format to
CGALs input format (C3T3?) - but don't really understand how do that to
since i miss the descriptions. Same with the output .mesh file. 

I found that the output format can be ASCII - and thats what i need ... 
where do i set a parameter that lets CGAL save the mesh as an ASCII list of
nodes, elements (with material attribute) etc?

Due to the huuuge amount of data and functions in CGAL i have quite some
trouble to find a point to start with.
