Try this: pronounce "coke" - if you pronounce it as something like
"c-owe-k" (the word "owe", prefixed by "c", suffixed by "k"), then
pronounce Coq by starting out the same, but stop just short of the "we"
embellishment on the vowel sound, and proceed directly to "k".
