Hello,

While debugging a memory leak in my application, I realized that there does not seem to be a warning when the client program forgets to unregister() some data handles, at least in the default configuration (StarPU 1.1.2).

Such a warning could be useful at least in a debugging context, since it looks like StarPU doesn't automatically frees the handle in starpu_shutdown(), causing a memory leak if the user is not careful enough.

What do you think ? Would that be useful / hard / costly to add ?

Thank you,
