Hi Samuel,
   Am using the openCl libraries that came with the Cuda/6.5 SDK. OpenCl version 1.1. I have attached the cl.h and opencl.h files. I just reconfigured it with --enable-verbose and ran hello world again and here's the detailed log before the crash.

Well, I don't know: the code just calls

        err = clGetDeviceInfo(devices[devid], CL_DEVICE_GLOBAL_MEM_SIZE, sizeof(totalGlobalMem), &totalGlobalMem, NULL);
        if (err != CL_SUCCESS)
                STARPU_OPENCL_REPORT_ERROR(err);

so it's nothing fancy, just getting the global memory size, but OpenCL
returns an error.  Which OpenCL implementation are you using?
