That should not pose problem: unless you modify configure.ac or
Makefile.am, automake is not used for building starpu, all the necessary
output generated by starpu is available in the tarball.

All tarball should be having the configure script, if some don't, we
have to fix that problem.

In case you checkout from svn, autoconf is needed indeed. It is however
possible to run it on another system, and use make dist to build a
tarball which shouldn't need automake at all for building.
