Here is my attempt that exposes the exact problem of incompatibility between Paje.Trace and Vite.

1. Launched my vite (version 1.2 July 2010) with the trace file paje.trace (attached with this email) that I generated using FXT in a task scheduler called StarPU. I get figure 1 (attached)
2. Preferences-> settings->states and I get figure 2 (attached). As you can see, by default, all states are active with ticks against the colors in them.
3. Since my objective is to only visualize the 7th task (intResidual), I have unchecked all other color boxes and select 'apply' (figure 3).
4. Now, I click on the refresh button and I still do not see intResidual being shown exclusively in the chart (figure 4).

So in a nutshell, the color-based filtering of states is not working.

Am I missing something at my end?

Also, please comment on StarVZ toolkit (of which you were an author if I am not wrong?). Does it help derive more information from StarPU trace? Is it much more powerful than say vite in terms of Gantt charts? Is the learning curve too steep for a domain expert like me?

Do you use scheduling contexts? If not, I'm not aware of an issue, would
you have a small reproducer?

Normally it does, we check this in the CI by running the output through
pjdump.

There is no such support, but such a feature would be very welcome
