Hi Peter,
Do you know anything about the undocumented function
convert_inner_shell_to_polyhedron() in Nef_polyhedron_3? I am still looking
for a way to iterate through shells, and came across this function in
Nef_polyhedron_3.h.

That's right. There is no notion of separate boundaries in Polyhedron_3.
