Hi,

you need to use make/cmake.

Here is a rough way to do it (in 3.5):

copy the script 
scripts/cgal_create_cmake_script
to your working directory

execute the following command, replacing the path with whatever is right for 
you.

cmake -DCGAL_DIR=$HOME/CGAL-3.5 .

Then type make

and you will build the executable.

Simple g++ cannot work because you need to link to the libraries.
