Hi Roger, 

it seems the issue is purely related to Qt and not CGAL. There is no way
to get the examples to run without a working Qt installation. qmake is
not required but moc (metaobject-compiler) is.

You might want to raise the issue on the appropriate Qt list or the Qt
forum.
