Dear CGAL users,

I would like to enquire about a couple of research issues:
i) does CGAL support the discretization of 3D curves as a series of beam
elements?
If I understand correctly your question, an anisotropic mesher is currently under development.

ii) I know that you had begun an implementation of tetrahedral meshing that
could provide controlled-resolution results as well as remain faithful to an
input triangulated surface, but my results with this algorithm of a year were
less than convincing... I'm wondering if this algorithm has been further
validated over the past year or so?

What do you mean by "controlled-resolution"?
