I personally don't see any application for it. In particular I don't know if it would be possible provided the method used to create the
skeleton from the collapsed meshed.

What does "Add an option to filter small parts of the skeleton (cf
knot2.off)" in the todo mean?


IIRC, this was about removing tiny non signifiant parts creating nodes
of degree more that 2.

There is another todo which states: "Compute the distance between two
skeletons.". What kind of distance should that be or could you direct me to
a paper?

We did not think to much about that. I think the goal was for doing
some testing on the result depending on the parameter values.
