Please let me add some more information to my previous answer.


One can modify the triangulation using the `c3t3.triangulation()` accessor.
Then, provided you C3t3 is still valid, the function `CGAL::refine_mesh_3()` [2] can be used to re-launch the refinement process with `c3t3` given as a starting point.
It will satisfy the given parameters, without starting all the remeshing process over again.

after forming a mesh with Mesh_3, you have a Mesh_complex_3_in_triangulation_3.


The API gives a non-const access to the underlying triangulation, with the `triangulation()` accessor, see [1]. So, you can insert more vertices or perform other Delaunay_triangulation_3 operations. As mentioned in the documentation, the C3T3 has to be kept valid by the user.

Once we have formed a mesh using the mesh_3 classes, and the customer provides us with a few more vertices to consider, do we have to rebuild the entire mesh?  Is there some way to start with the current mesh as an initial estimate and quickly produce an updated mesh?
