This doesn't seem to fix the issue.

(Had to manually apply some part of the patch (some was rejected, maybe because of git-svn) but I don't think I mis-applied it)

Ok. I discussed a bit with Cedric about it, he thinks it could be a mere
threadsafety issue in CUDA. Could you try the attached patch instead?
