I installed cgal but I can not find where it is. Where are the demos?

because it is not installed? Just install the g++ package.

By the way, there are CGAL packages for Ubuntu, feisty has 3.2.1, gutsy
has 3.3
and hardy has 3.3.1. Search for libcgal2, libcgal-dev and libcgal-demo
in the
package manager.
