I agree, it is desirable, but I also have to admit it that not being
aware of it have cost me 4 hours of desperate debugging :-(

PS: As a side note, this behavior would have been more obvious if it
was contained in the API itself, ala std::set for instance where the
insert function returns a std::pair. But of course, such design make
the API less readable.
