Dear all,

I have seen several posts of this nature on the forum requesting assistance
in edge- and surface-preserving mesh generation in multidomain 3D images,
with conforming vertices on the interface surfaces. I am experiencing the
exact same problem described in this publication:

[BYB09b] Dobrina Boltcheva, Mariette Yvinec, and Jean-Daniel Boissonnat.
Mesh generation from 3d multi-material images. In Medical Image Computing
and Computer-Assisted Intervention, volume 5762 of Lecture Notes in Computer
Science, pages 283–290, 2009.

and I believe the solutions described in it would address the issues I'm
facing also.

Is there a plan to include these features in CGAL in the horizon? I am aware
that 1D-feature preservation has been added in CGAL 3.8, however an
automatic approach would be greatly preferred.

I'd appreciate your helpful pointers.

Jack
