you could use the "testing" repository to get newer versions. But note that
"testing" is not "stable" (pun intended). But that won't solve your problem.

Either OpenSCAD/CGAL need to support OpenGL ES, or the Rasberry Pi needs to
support immediate-mode OpenGL.

Downgrading OpenGL won't help either. "2.x" was mentioned because "immediate
mode" was the only mode in that version. Never OpenGL versions still support
"immediate mode" (in addition to other modes).
