I tried a bigger mesh of 100k facets, and due to the bijectivity constraints
that I put in the placement, I couldn't simplify below 22k facets. I went
again over the source code, and I can't see any place that inserts edges
(e.g. in the 2-ring of a collapsed edge) back to the queue. Meaning, once an
edge is out of the queue it won't get back to it.

Can you please confirm, and explain what you meant by getting back to queue?

This is something I fixed in CGAL 4.4 so if you're using an older
version you don't have it.

Sebastien.

PS: for some reason gmail put your emails into the spam folder and I
just noticed it today.
