update :

With apt-get install --reinstall , I reinstalled the QtOpenGL libs, but no
change after running cmake and make.

Makes sense to me, after all apt-file find indicates where it thinks the
file(s) should be according to the ppa, and it clearly thinks they belong in
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ .

When I google that path there seem to be various people having similar
issues finding libraries after upgrading to ubuntu 11.10
